Overview:
Sol-Ark’s VP Finance will be responsible for building and leading the company’s finance group. In addition to managing traditional functions, this position will be responsible for communicating and educating partners and customers on the financial advantages of working with Sol-Ark and how to capitalize on government regulations and tax incentives that are advantageous to companies and individuals employing solar for their residential and commercial building projects.
The VP Finance should have experience with significant capital raising activities. The ideal candidate would have helped an emerging growth or larger company to raise capital, in the form of both debt and equity, to help accelerate our growth. Contacts in the financial sector with banks, private credit sources, and sophisticated financial advisors will be advantageous.
It is expected that the VP Finance be hands-on, with a primary objective of developing and building a world-class financial infrastructure to manage finance, investor relations, and partner education on solar incentives. This person is a key strategic partner to the senior management team and will assume an important role in leading the company through strategic discussions that inform financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and high-level decision making about policy, business, and financial growth strategies. It is also expected that the VP Finance will be able to oversee, manage and timely deliver to the management team and investors GAAP-compliant financial statements with the assistance of the company’s accounting team. The VP Finance will also be expected to assist with the design and implementation of internal controls over financial reporting.
Responsibilities:

Identify and develop relationships with potential investors from diverse sources including but not limited to venture capital, private equity, private credit, strategic partners and investment banks. Assist with the fundraising process, including through a potential IPO.

Design a capital strategy that addresses the company’s needs, including issues around working capital, contract manufacturing, supply chain, recruitment and hiring needs and day-to-day business operations.

Be a trusted partner to the executive team.

Prepare and oversee the development of financial models and forecasts for capital allocations and investment purposes.

Proactively manage the company’s cash flow needs.

Prepare and timely deliver GAAP-compliant financial statements and necessary certifications to any lenders. Ensure compliance with all lending arrangements.

Oversee and manage tax issues, including federal and state tax issues. The company operates as a limited liability company. Familiarity with accounting for tax partnerships and pass-through entities would be helpful.

Partner with senior management to build compensation plans and parameters for recruiting and hiring. Manage payroll and IT.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

10+ years of finance and accounting experience.

Experience with significant capital raising.

Proven track record leading and managing a finance group.

Ability to partner with customers to assist them in obtaining tax and other solar incentive benefits that will help grow the company’s revenue.
