Assistant ReStore Manager for Habitat for Humanity NCI:

This position will oversee the ReStore's merchandise donation processing area, as well as assist the ReStore Manager in all areas of the retail operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the ReStore Manager in the management of the day-to-day store operations
- Interact with donors, customers, Habitat families and volunteers in a professional, positive, and supportive manner
- Provide exceptional customer service, including unloading donations and loading purchases into customers’ vehicles
- Work to keep the donation warehouse safe, organized, and clean
- Lead volunteers, other staff members, and Habitat families to maintain a highly motivated organizational atmosphere
- Ensure that only donations deemed "sellable" by pre-approved ReStore guidelines are accepted
- Clean and test all donations, as well as assist with pricing
- Answer questions regarding donation requirements, store policies, volunteering, and mission
- Continually restock the sales floor and help to display merchandise to encourage and increase sales
- Assist in picking up donated items throughout the community
- Cover the check-out desk and sales floor when needed
- Handle customer complaints when necessary
- Act as a team player and assist with other areas as assigned, including facility maintenance and Habitat events
- Serve as a back-up ReStore Manager in their absence
Hours: Approximately 40 hours/week during store hours of Tuesdays - Fridays 8:30am - 5:30pm, and Saturdays 9am - 4pm

- Strong leader with the ability to provide direction to the other staff and volunteers, as well as the ability to work independently at times
- Retail and/or merchandising experience
- Computer skills including email and the ability to research prices online
- Dependable and able to fulfill agreed weekly schedule
- Ability to lift 50-75 pounds on a regular basis
- Position requires consistent walking and standing
- Dependable and solid work history
- Candidate must pass a criminal background check
- Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation

Habitat for Humanity of North Central Iowa is a non-profit, Christian organization dedicated to providing safe and affordable housing to local individuals and families in need. Through our homeownership and home repair programs, we give a "hand up" to those who don't qualify for a traditional loan or mortgage.
The Habitat ReStore is open to the public and sells new and gently-used furniture, appliances, home decor, building materials, paint, and other home improvement items. The ReStore helps to provide affordable merchandise to area residents; keeps good, reusable items out of the landfill; and raises funds to support Habitat's local housing programs.
