Job Summary:
The Imprint Production Manager is responsible for managing the entire apparel embellishment production operation. This includes overseeing production schedules, ensuring quality control, optimizing resource use, and leading a team of production staff. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in production or light manufacturing management and will be adept at improving processes, reducing waste, and increasing efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Oversight: Manage all aspects of the production process including Quality Control, Art Production, Transfer Production, and Press Production. Ensure that each area operates efficiently and meets quality standards.
- Scheduling and Planning: Develop and execute production schedules to meet customer deadlines without compromising on quality. Balance workload capacity to optimize the use of labor and materials.
- Inventory Management: Maintain and oversee inventory levels of all printing supplies, equipment, and tools to prevent production delays.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for production processes. Use data-driven insights to recommend and implement improvements.
- Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control procedures for both incoming raw materials and outgoing finished products. Ensure all products meet the highest standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a production team, ensuring proper training and development. Foster a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement.
- Process Improvement: Drive initiatives to improve production processes, enhance quality, and increase efficiency. Implement Lean Manufacturing practices to minimize waste.
- Collaboration: Work closely with sales and customer service teams to understand customer needs and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all production equipment, including digital printing and DTF (Direct to Film) printers, are well-maintained and operating efficiently. Schedule regular maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety standards and protocols to protect employees and equipment. Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.
- Budget Management: Manage production expenses within the approved budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and organization in all production areas to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, manufacturing/production management, or a related field preferred; a combination of education and experience demonstrating required skills is acceptable.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a production or light manufacturing environment; experience in imprint production is a plus.
- Minimum of 4+ years in a production management role with direct responsibility for at least 10 employees.
- Strong understanding and experience with advanced printing technologies, particularly digital printing and DTF (Direct to Film).
- Six Sigma certification and/or experience in Lean Manufacturing practices is highly desirable.
- Exceptional problem-solving and leadership skills with a proven ability to drive production goals and process improvements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred but not required.
