Camelot is recruiting for a Chief Engineer at the new high profile 300,000 square foot Higher Education Facility, located on Potomac Avenue, Alexandria VA. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership & maintenance experience, with the ability to communicate at a senior level, while supervising a team of Maintenance Technicians. The candidate must have the ability to lead, train, develop and organize the team. The candidate will also have experience with establishing and creating operational and procedural policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· With the assistance of the onsite Maintenance team, be responsible for the maintenance of the building to include scheduling PM’s, daily maintenance assignments, and performance tracking. Plan / Coordinate / Implement.
· Ensuring all Monthly PM tasks are completed in accordance with the set standards.
· Attend scheduled meetings with the client to discuss building operational issues and provide recommendations.
· Responsible for proactively adhering to Company safety program and ensuring all employees and vendors adhere to and complete safety training and Job Safety Assessments.
· Responsible for ensuring daily documenting of all maintenance and repairs.
· Responsible for ensuring operational and procedure manuals for all equipment are kept up to date, and staff trained accordingly.
· Oversee the ordering process of supplies and materials as approved by management.
· Respond to tenant complaints, ensuring that all reasonable measures are taken to satisfy the tenant’s needs in a timely and efficient manner.
· Assist with monthly budget reviews, providing analysis / spend history.
· Responsible for planning / preparation / providing active response to inclement weather to ensure employee safety.
· Participate and oversee renegotiation of vendor contracts as needed to ensure appropriate services and cost savings are being obtained.
· Participate in O&M and capital budget process.
· Write SOPs & MOPs as needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS
· Proven leadership experience and ability to manage staff effectively – Train / Supervise / Lead / Develop.
· Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
· Must have strong computer skills, such as MS Office Outlook, Excel, Word, CMMS systems, etc.
· Must have a solid safety record in past work history and training in safe work practices.
· Must have a valid Driver’s license and a clean Driving Record.
· Must possess the physical attributes that would allow for an extensive amount of walking, climbing and activity associated with a large high-rise maintenance department.
· Experience with preparation of annual Management Plans and Budgets.
· Vendor management experience - Engages, monitors, and coordinates activities of contract services.

QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
· 10+ years of experience in Commercial Building Maintenance preferred.
· 5+ years of supervisory experience in a Class A office building. preferred.
· Effective leadership abilities – Must have experience leading teams.
· High level of computer proficiency with emphasis on Microsoft office products.
