THE POSITION:
Meadowbrook Equestrian Center is seeking an experienced equine professional. As assistant barn manager, you will be working alongside other barn workers, boarders, and trainers. You will work closely with barn manager to ensure top notch care is provided to all of the horses and the facility is well maintained.
ABOUT THE FACILITY:
Meadowbrook Equestrian Center is a full-service boarding facility located in Sedalia, Colorado with 30-35 horses.
SCHEDULE:
We are looking for someone to work around 35-40 hours a weeks, approximately 5 days a week. Must be willing to help cover other employee's shift when they call in sick or request days off.
HOURLY RATE:
Starting rate is $22 an hour.
DUTIES:
Include, but are not limited to:
- Daily feeding and turnout of horses, including blanketing
- Cleaning of stalls and turnout pens
- Inventory of feed, hay, and shavings
- Basic upkeep/cleaning of barn
- Facility maintenance and repairs
- Operating Tractor to drag arenas, move hay, feed cattle, unload pallet deliveries, and plowing snow.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Thorough horse handling experience and knowledge of horse care is strongly preferred. Experience working at a horse boarding facility is strongly preferred.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work as a team and have good communication skills
- Able to identify sick or injured horses
- Able to operate a tractor and pull various types of trailers (or willing to learn)
- Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
- Must be customer service oriented.
