The Human Resources Representative is an independent and effective HR practitioner who works as a member of the Human Resources team. The Human Resources Representative works in cooperation with and under the direct supervision of the Director of Human Resources and is responsible for performing HR-Related functions and administrative duties. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Employee relations, training & development, performance management, orientation, policy implementation, payroll, employee database management, creation & maintenance of employee personnel files and recruitment.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a liaison between the Director of Human Resources and Company employees
- Collaborate with the Finance Department regarding the Payroll function, including solving errors in employee wages
- Performs duties under minimal supervision, escalating the most serious matters to the HR Director
- Conducts new hire orientations
- Coordinates and conducts employee reference checks
- Ensures accurate maintenance of all employee personnel files and records in preparation for audits & to minimize potential liability & deficiencies
- Respond promptly to the Finance Department’s inquiries on unemployment claim matters
- Create new employee personnel files
- Assists in the Company training and development efforts
- Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification
- Ensures CORI, Nurse Aide Registry, Federal/Mass OIG, GSA/SAM, Sex Offender checks are completed
- Prepare application packages for all new hires
- Answer the Human Resources phone and respond to employee questions and concerns
Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, required
- Prior experience and knowledge of general office procedures required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Required
- Desire to work in the Human Resources field required
- SHRM Certification or HR Certification preferred, but not required
- Valid driver’s license with reliable, registered, insured vehicle required
- One to two years of experience in the HR field preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of Adobe software programs preferred but, not required
