We are seeking a Strong, Experienced Teacher to join our team in our TWO's and Young Three-year-old classroom! This is an established classroom and we are looking for someone with experience to add to this growing classroom.
This position REQUIRES understanding and the ability to work with children of different backgrounds, abilities, and behaviors. This position deals with behavioral needs kiddos of varying degrees and abilities. We are paired with local agencies that provide support for children who have been impacted by difficult life changing situations. This leads to challenges both in the classroom and out of the classroom that require a lot of additional understanding and support.
Who We Are:
We are a licensed facility that provides care for children birth through 5 years. We have been in business for 30 years! We started as a single classroom with a vision to provide low-cost quality educational experiences to families in central Columbia. Our program has grown through the years but we remain dedicated to our mission.
Responsibilities:
- Instruct young preschool-aged children in activities designed to promote intellectual, developmental, and social growth
- Create a fun and safe learning environment
- Develop consistent schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with children and families.
- Communicate with parents on students' growth and progress through observations, checklists, and conferences.
- Maintain the health and safety of all students
- Build and maintain positive relationships with the entire Turn the Page family.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields.
- The ability and working knowledge to open, lead, and maintain a classroom independently.
- Understanding and ability to work with children of different backgrounds, abilities, and behaviors. We are paired with local agencies that provide support for children who have been impacted by difficult life changing situations. This leads to challenges both in the classroom and out of that require additional understanding and support.
- Creating Behavior Intervention plans for children with severe behaviors alongside thier parents.
- Passionate about working with younger preschool age children between the ages of 2 and 4 years old.
- Ability to build rapport with coworkers, staff, children, and their families
- Positive and patient demeanor
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
