Position: Controls System Technician
Job duties include but are not limited to:

Evaluate mechanical and controls systems to ensure optimal performance in facilities
-
Effectively read and understand controls diagrams
-
Perform assigned system commissioning using configuration and commissioning tools
-
Troubleshoot and resolve HVAC mechanical, electrical and controls issues, including handling basic warranty tickets
-
Commission and start up Building Automation Systems (BAS), documenting point to point verification, sequence of operations validation and job close out requirements
-
Responsible for basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices, including but not limited to sensors, actuators, etc.

Complete all necessary commissioning documentation
-
Calibrate systems
-
Set up graphics, communications link, end to end testing
-
Obtain and maintain necessary certifications applicable to the industry.

Promote safe working conditions in accordance with OSHA, EPA and other required regulations dealing with proper operation of all equipment

Experience with air- and water-cooled chillers (scroll, semi hermetic, screw, and centrifugal) and their operating characteristics
-
Ability to operate, diagnose and install frequency drives
-
Accurately complete necessary paperwork in a timely manner

Consistently strive for results that achieve standards of excellence
Job Requirements:
-
Vocational school four-year program OR an associate’s degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, HVAC and three (3) years of industry experience OR five (5) years of industry experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.

Possess general knowledge related to HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, installation of peripheral equipment and servicing techniques.

Experience with DDC controls systems, preferred.
-
Background in programming, commissioning and startup of Alerton, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Tridium/Niagra, Trane, Carrier, Automated Logic, Trend and/or Honeywell based controls systems, strongly preferred.

Valid Florida driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, to drive company vehicle.

Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and background check.

Strong computer skills to be able to program HVAC related software

Strong work ethic and time management skills.

Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with other team members.

Good coordination, physical fitness and dexterity.
-
Ability to think outside the box to create innovative and money-saving solutions for clients.

Willingness to work overtime and on-call hours.

Ability to visually differentiate wires by color.

Strong customer service skills and the ability to deescalate challenging situations.

Ability to explain technical information to non-technical customers.

Positive initiative-taker who is coachable and willing to learn new things.

Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
