Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Director Receivables Management, the National Accounts / Cash Applications Manager is responsible for performing functions to assist in the application of the Corporate Credit Policy.
Essential Duties/Accountabilities:
- Oversee daily cash posting to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Apply payments on accounts per customer remittances accurately and timely.
- Identify and resolve payment discrepancies, referring problems to the appropriate service center.
- Process NSF checks upon receipt, sending demand letters and following up with the check writer and bank as necessary (notify the appropriate service center to facilitate collection).
- Utilize various customers' online billing portals to submit invoices and review payment status.
- Review accounts receivable status of all service centers in the assigned territory to assure they are in a sound condition.
- Contact customers as necessary to collect accounts receivable and to confirm payment status.
- Work to resolve customer deductions, including but not limited to short payments, tax issues, warranty disputes, PO discrepancies, billing errors, etc.
- Communicate with service center managers and sales representatives regarding their past due customers.
- Set up and monitor payment schedules for seriously delinquent customers.
- Elevate issues to the Credit Manager or Director as necessary.
- Communicate with the Credit Manager or Director as necessary to discuss the territory's overall collection status.
- Follow proper credit department procedures in the handling of past due customers.
- Set up and maintain customer files, tax exempt customers, maintaining all changes to the appropriate records.
- Responsible for direct reports' timekeeping for payroll, review time cards, approve PTO, ensure adequate staffing coverage.
- Train for new hires and coaching for growth / development of staff.
- Conduct him/herself in a professional and courteous manner in all aspects of interaction with customers and employees.

Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Tech savvy, and/or adept in performing internet searches and utilizing 3rd party billing portals.
- Solid understanding of account reconciliation, posting payments, deductions, and research.
- Previous experience in Credit and/or Collections, preferably with a focus on National Accounts.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and co-workers.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products.
- High School diploma or GED.
