The Healing Place Counseling is growing and looking for a part-time (16 to 20 hrs/wk.) experienced office administrator. Our office has five counselors that are licensed to help people navigate challenges going on in their life.
Description:
Provide administrative support to patients, colleagues, insurance providers and referral sources. Will be responsible for independently scheduling new evaluations and return visits, patient check in, account registration, verification of patient demographics, and copay collection. Must have experience with claim rejections, claim payment posting and other claim information. Experience with credentialing is a plus. Will ensure revenue cycle optimization by obtaining, documenting, and tracking patient insurance authorization and benefit information, utilizing on-line websites, through telephone and fax. Will be responsible for maintaining medical records in accordance with HIPAA standards.
Job Duties Include:
- Answering phones and responding to emails
- Scheduling client appointments
- Insurance – obtain, document, and track patient insurance authorization and benefits.
- Copays – collecting patient copays and recording in EHR system.
- Medical Record – process medical record requests and manage medical records in accordance with HIPAA standards.
- Working with health insurance companies on new patients, claims, and payments
- Billing and taking payments from clients, creating statements for declined payments
- Website and social media marketing
- Miscellaneous items such as garbage, errands, shopping, etc.
- Perform any other duties as requested.
Related Experience:
- Preferred: 2 years' experience with insurance authorization / benefit verification/ claims rejection in a healthcare office.
Other Qualifications:
- Competency in Google Suite including but not limited to documents and spreadsheets.
- Excellent typing skills and well-developed communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and colleagues.
- Excellent customer service skills necessary to interact with patients, peers, and providers to maintain and promote positive relationships.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to problem solve effectively based on established policies and procedures.
