As a Business Development Manager, you will not only cultivate and nurture relationships but will also employ sales best practices and experience to help spearhead key growth in the Northeast Region.
Responsibilities:
Position Summary
The role of the Business Development Manager entails developing and fostering new relationships with prospective clients and driving sales growth in the water and wastewater sectors in key Northeastern states. Responsibilities include identifying potential leads, initiating contact, crafting proposals, negotiating terms and conditions, cultivating relationships with local industry connections, and providing customized solutions based on client requirements. The primary focus of this position will be to expand the company's business in Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania by securing service contracts with utilities serving the metropolitan areas of Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh while also supporting other regions. This is a hunter role in a new market.
To accomplish these objectives, the Business Development Manager will utilize industry best practices and draw upon the company's expertise to address customer challenges, implement effective sales strategies, support corporate growth initiatives, collaborate with industry experts to develop innovative solutions, and capitalize on new business opportunities with prospective customers. Hydromax USA is in search of a driven business development professional who possesses the ability to identify viable business prospects and devise comprehensive strategies, tactics, and actions to successfully bring them to fruition. The ideal candidate should be motivated to grow both personally and professionally.
Primary Responsibilities

Achieve annual sales objectives as defined by the CEO and Vice President of Sales.

Work closely with the Vice President of Sales to create and implement innovative regional sales strategies and market planning.

Actively call on utilities in the assigned region using a consultative sales approach to understand client needs, goals, and challenges.

Use unique approaches to solve problems, share proven best practice solutions, tailor programs for specific customer needs, and assist customers in lowering operating costs, reducing risk, and improving customer service levels.

Quarterback the development of bid specifications and submittals.

Research and understand procurement requirements in multiple jurisdictions.

Work closely with technical staff, sales team, and strategic partners to develop growth strategies.

Provide analysis of markets, trends, competition, portfolios, technologies, and revenues.

Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, including calls, communications, presentations, proposals, and submittals, close sales, and follow-up activities using Hydromax USA’s CRM.

Attend and speak at conferences and actively engage with professional industry groups to maintain a high level of visibility and better understand market challenges.
Job Qualifications and Skills:

5 years’ experience in selling services or complex solutions to municipalities.

Demonstrated track record of revenue generation in the water/wastewater industry is preferred.

Ability to communicate with directors, asset managers, engineers, and operations team members.

Highly organized, goal oriented, self-starter with effective communication skills, including active listening, technical proposal/report writing, client presentations and workshops facilitation.

Engineering and/or technology background is preferred (asset management, GIS, leak detection, smart metering, etc.).

Up to 80% weekly travel required, including flying and driving to client meetings, conferences, events, etc.

Valid Driver's License with a good driving record

Ability to pass a thorough background check and pre-employment drug screen required as a condition of employment.
