Job Summary:
A Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing inventory, and providing excellent customer service. This role involves ensuring the accurate preparation and delivery of prescriptions, maintaining pharmacy records, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities:
*Order Entry: Accurately enter medication orders into the pharmacy computer system, including prescriptions from healthcare providers and refill requests. *Prescription Processing: Receive and verify prescription orders from healthcare providers and patients. Accurately enter prescription information into the pharmacy management system. *Medication Dispensing: Prepare and label medications for dispensing, including counting, measuring, mixing, and packaging prescriptions. Ensure all medications are prepared following the pharmacist’s instructions and regulatory guidelines. *Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by greeting patients, answering questions about medications, and resolving any issues or concerns. Assist with over-the-counter product recommendations and insurance queries. *Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and manage stock to ensure medications are available and stored correctly. Conduct regular inventory checks and address discrepancies. *Insurance Processing: Process insurance claims and verify patient insurance information. Handle billing issues and coordinate with insurance companies to resolve claim denials. *Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate patient records, prescription logs, and pharmacy documentation. Ensure all records comply with legal and regulatory requirements. *Compliance: Adhere to all relevant pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards, including HIPAA, OSHA, and state board of pharmacy requirements. Assist in maintaining a clean and safe pharmacy environment. *Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacists, healthcare providers, and other pharmacy staff to ensure efficient pharmacy operations and high-quality patient care.
Qualifications:
*Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a pharmacy technician training program is preferred. *Certification: Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or equivalent is preferred and may be required in some states. *Experience: Prior experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is advantageous but not always required.

Working Conditions:
*Environment: On- Site, Monday – Friday: 9am – 5pm *Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods, handle delicate equipment, and perform repetitive tasks with precision.
Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays and Saturdays. Compensation is $14.00 - $20.00/hour.
