Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Legal Assistant/Receptionist to join our team. As a Legal Assistant/ Receptionist, you will be responsible for opening the business each morning, ensuring a smooth start to operations. You will be the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and vendors. Your exceptional phone etiquette and organizational skills will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our law office.
Responsibilities:
- Open the business each day and greet clients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
- Answer and direct phone calls efficiently, taking accurate messages when necessary
- Assist with legal tasks as needed
- Maintain a tidy reception area, kitchen, copy room and conference rooms
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and packages
- Familiarity with litigation is a plus
- Utilize legal databases
- Support with administrative tasks including filing, scanning, mailouts, and document preparation
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a law office or legal environment preferred
- Knowledge of basic legal terminology and procedures
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
