Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities as a Production Planner at iwis would be to ensure the Production and Finished Goods planning targets for Quality, Cost and Delivery are met and continuously exceeded and to actively encourage the progression/implementation of systems and procedures within production.
Along with the following tasks expectations:
- Plan and prepare production schedules in an efficient and effective manner.
Schedule labor daily in an efficient and effective manner.
- Develop long range finished product plans based on sales backlog and forecasts, inventory objectives and plant capacity
- Lead daily production meetings and provide production related reports to meeting attendees.
- Responsible for entry, review of customer releases and initialization of acknowledgements and change notices.
- Provide excellent customer service through personal contact, telephone, and email to internal and external customers to strengthen business relationships.
- Monitor machine capacity and create action plans/schedules.
Create recovery plan / backlog plans and provisions to the customer.
- Coordinate projects, prepare and disseminate information on a daily basis to company personnel.
- Provide daily backlog order reports and know the backlog situation for each Business Unit customer.
- Awareness of daily shipment status.
- Communicate shipment related information and issues to S&R Lead.
- Awareness of current production floor status.
- Communicate hot/expedite items across all shifts to Production Lead Technicians and Technicians.
- Perform daily cycle counts of WIP materials when applicable.
- Create and maintain production planner work instructions and procedures.
- Provide and implement continuous improvement and cost saving ideas.
- Research and evaluate the market and potential vendors, Issuance of RFQ's to potential vendors based on requirements, create price overviews, negotiate with suppliers to achieve best possible pricing.
- Provides updates on RFQ process/status to other involved departments and communicate closely to reach overall price targets and goals. Makes sourcing decision based on procedures within the Team.
- Set up terms and conditions with selected suppliers based on iwis standards.
- Develops procedures to ensure consistent improvement of the department.
- Create purchase orders, blanket orders, and set up arrangements, Control due dates, pricing and quality for purchased products and services based on project requirements.
- Set up of logistical requirements such as consignment to ensure most efficient material supply.
- Provide and implement continuous improvement and cost saving ideas within the Supply Chain.
- Set up of supplier Audits in cooperation with supplier quality to develop / improve current and new suppliers.
- Lead supplier improvement projects to cut cost and reduce pricing.
- Responsible for following the standards and guidelines of the latest quality System, including maintaining departmental records, participating in internal/External audits and following quality procedures on a daily basis.
Qualifications and Skills
- Quality Systems knowledge (TS16949, ISO9000, ISO14001)
- Experience in the Automotive Industry preferred
- Must be proficient in the use of computers, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to allow interaction with employees, customers, vendors, and management on a professional level.
