This Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator position is in Lake City, MN reporting to the EHS Manager and supports approximately 350 employees.
**
A successful EHS Coordinator will impact the business by:
- Develop, support, and deliver safety related training and or tools for all relevant EHS initiatives and regulatory requirements, monitor training compliance and drive desired results.
- Lead EHS reviews for new equipment, processes and procedures (such as JSAs and hazard assessments) making recommendations and completing tasks for improvements to minimize or eliminate potential hazards.
- Prepare, maintain, and comply with all local, state, federal and corporate EHS required regulations, record keeping, reporting and tasks.
- Participate in and assist EHS Manager in employee injury case management and resulting action plans and internal communications.
- Assist consulting agency with environmental compliance needs for water and air permits.
- Take part in and/or conduct hazard assessments of production work areas.
- Assist with facilitating incident investigations and ensure timely, appropriate actions are in place.
- Conduct EHS company required audits of facilities and operations, make recommendations, and assist with developing action plans.
- Establish strong relationships with leadership to ensure EHS is considered in all aspects of the business.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in EHS or will consider other non-related degrees with combination of 2+ years of relevant EHS work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years working in EHS or related field.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred but not required
Required Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA, state and federal laws and other applicable regulations.
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Demonstrated experience and desire to present/train in a conference room setting.
