Description:
Job Summary: Performs as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instruction for and coordinating activities of the Security and Protective Services program.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to ensure maximum student motivation, progress, and completion.

Creates and delivers daily lesson plans or weekly work plans covering all curricular, state, national, and Department of Labor requirements.

Maintains a high degree of classroom management and case-management to ensure maximum student learning and progress within and through the program.

Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport.

Utilizes all possible curriculum resources available.

Responsible for the maintenance of student documentation and records as required by the state of California.

Establishes and maintains relationships with student internship sites. Works with the Work-based Learning Coordinator to schedule and facilitate all student internships and work experiences for fulfillment of program requirements.

Facilitates administration of all relevant student certification testing.

Conducts/facilitates physical demonstrations and fitness activities relevant to meeting training objectives.

Records daily student attendance and maintains daily student accountability.

Assists in the completion of all necessary Job Corps forms and documents.

Responsible for accountability of all equipment, supplies, and materials within classroom and under custodianship. Conducts quarterly inventory of classroom equipment and materials.

Accountable for the cleanliness and organization of classroom.

Responsible for reports required by the Supervisor such as monthly reports on case-management of students, purchase requisitions, and weekly student evaluations.

Works in conjunction with the Career Transition Services Department to assist with the placement of all Security program students.

Maintain data integrity of all programs, evaluations, testing and records.
Requirements:
Minimum: Currently holds a Guard Card or Guard Trainer Certification from the State in which you work in. Possesses practical experience in the subject/training area; must have the ability to transfer topical knowledge to meet specific learning objectives; extensive practical knowledge of Security and Protective Services careers and fields. Certified Protection Officer Instructor Certification or ability to become certified. Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent and satisfy minimum qualifications criteria relating to education, teaching experience, formal training, and security experience.
Preferred: Career Technical Training or Adult Education Teaching Credential; Bachelor's degree in related field; Certified Protection Officer Instructor Certification; Teaching or training experience within the security field.
Compensation details: 64000-65000 Yearly Salary
