We are looking for an Electrical Designer to complement our growing Infrastructure Power Systems group in a remote and part-time capacity. The employee will collaborate directly with in-house electrical engineers to produce power and control designs for infrastructure power systems.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Your typical day will consist of collaborating with a senior electrical engineer on a variety of electrical design projects, examples of which may include, electric vehicle charging stations, utility services, industrial remodeling and expansion projects, automotive production systems, water and wastewater utilities, and environmental services projects. You will be given a scope and a schedule and will have the freedom to work at your own pace.
Further responsibilities of the Electrical Designer include:
1. Production and creation of electrical power system design documents, including the following:
a. Site Plans
b. Power Floor Plans
c. Lighting Floor Plans
d. Single-line Diagrams
e. Control Diagrams
f. Electrical Schedules
g. Electrical Details
2. Creation and editing of electrical specifications
3. Development of contract drawings and bid document packages
4. Adherence to company electrical design standardsSKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Required:
▪ Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience
▪ Proficient and experienced with AutoCAD
▪ Understanding of basic electrical power system concepts
▪ Able to interpret engineer’s notes and specifications, and convert into detailed design
drawings accurately and promptly with minimum supervision
▪ Ability to multi-task in an ever changing and fast-paced environment
▪ Willingness to work independently with a desire to learn and grow
▪ Comfortable communicating and interfacing remotely
▪ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred:
▪ Experience with low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems, switchgear, motor-
control centers, circuit breakers, adjustable frequency drives and equipment grounding
▪ Experience with EasyPower system analysis and modeling software
▪ Knowledge and application experience of NFPA 70, National Electrical Code
▪ Knowledge and understanding of NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace
