Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent. Crane certification and forklift certification course required.
Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; understand basic equipment and engineering terminology, proficient interpersonal relations, and communicative skills; proficient teaching skills, proficient mechanical skills, proficient PC skills, visual and auditory skills; ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, climb, and lift items weighing 50 lbs. or less. Previous experience running outdoor heavy equipment a requirement.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in related positions normally required.
General Responsibilities
Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the manufacturing division; hands on operation of all equipment in the yard with the ability and willingness to train other employees, coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; reporting pertinent information to the owners and supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information.
Essential Duties
1. Performs a variety of duties to support the manufacturing division:
Discuss with supervisor daily and hourly goals and requirements for each department from steel, tank, fab, prep, blast, paint, assembly, and finished goods staging in yard.
Communicate with management on work schedule including future projects and maintenance requirements of equipment for safe operation.
Manage all storage areas and keep inventory rotated as best as possible. Maintain, organize, and QA inventory throughout its cycle from incoming delivery to delivery to the customer.
Move tanks, bodies, chassis to appropriate departments based on schedule within a timely manner.
Move chassis from yard to shop and shop to yard. Check in chassis using a PC based tablet following the SWI in place for this process. Report any issues found at time of check in with the supervisor immediately and document items on the chassis check in form.
Unload parts and supplies deliveries from various vendors and place them in appropriate inventory locations or departments.
Receive POs in the system upon checking in and confirming order is complete in its entirety.
Operate crane/forklift in support of loading and unloading big equipment and tanks.
Main point of contact for all deliveries and pick-ups of parts and finished goods.
Manage ALL the divisions inventory and enter it in the system. Send all BOL’s to the appropriate personnel.
Transfer parts to the corresponding jobs at time of delivery from inventory.
l. Create orders for internal/external supplies to maintain set inventory levels and give to purchasing to issue POs as needed.
m. Responsible for inventory cycle counts to maintain accuracy of inventory along with random spot checks. Frequency at management’s discretion.
2. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
3. Communicates with Director of Operations and appropriate staff personnel in order to integrate activities.
4. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
5. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the company’s compliance with all regulatory requirements.
6. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
