Field Service Technician Position Description:
An S.E.S. Field Service Technician assists and also perform independent field services including electrical testing, maintenance, and repair. A Field Service Technician must be able to self-manage assigned projects by using knowledge obtained from previous experience and further training by SES Field Staff or training courses.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
● Conducting field tests, problem solving, and writing test reports
● Maintaining substation equipment at customer facilities
● Installing and servicing electric systems and or products
● Responding to emergency after hours calls
● Ability to travel overnight and work weekends Qualifications
● Proficient knowledge and understanding of substation equipment including transformers, gas circuit breakers, power circuit breakers, metal-clad or enclosed switchgear, protective relays, power cables, substation equipment, motor control centers, medium voltage control, excitation equipment, automatic transfer switches, grounding systems, rotating equipment and associated drives
● 2 years minimum; 3-15 years experience desired
● Proficient at computer software including but not limited to Word, Excel, Adobe X1 Pro
● Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills using various communication systems
● A.S. degree in Engineering Discipline or higher education.
