Supports Medical Records Department daily operations in accordance with College of Optometry, university, state, and federal regulations. (i.e. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) governing medical records privacy, security, and release in a secure and confidential manner. Assures accurate, timely processing of patient-related correspondence; responds to patients, staff, optometrists, student and 3rd party requests for records and supplies. Works to ensure accurate, complete, and timely records, ensures quality document imaging, and complies with the university and state records retention policies. Assures proper release of patient information. Trains and guides student staff in completion of duties. May assume other Medical Records duties in absence of manager. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Class Requirements Per CCS Class Specs:
- High School diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or vocational training
