Position Summary:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to support the Director of Financial Reporting and Budgeting and the Shared Service organization. This role involves day-to-day and month-end close activities for multiple entities within the organization.

Essential Responsibilities:

Communicate effectively with co-workers and internal/external business partners to exchange information and ideas, fostering an environment of cooperation and collaboration.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts at period end; prepare corresponding GL journal entries to maintain a complete and accurate GL in conformity with US GAAP.
- Record weekly gross-to-net payroll in the GL, including underlying analysis to support allocations to multiple entities.
- Perform analysis of various accounts and transactions to determine period-end accruals; record corresponding GL entries.
- Analyze prepaid expenses at month-end and monitor for any current period additions; record corresponding GL entries.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules, including additions and disposals, gain/loss on sale, and corresponding monthly GL journal entries.
- Maintain lease accounting and record corresponding lease accounting monthly in the GL (aided by lease accounting software).
- Responsible for closing the month-end records and "owning" the G/L of a subsidiary with annual revenues in the $20MM-$30MM range.
- Support the annual external audit by responding to auditor inquiries, providing supporting documentation, and preparing ad-hoc analyses as needed.
- Develop strong working relationships with cross-functional teams to effectively contribute to continuous improvement projects.
- Perform variance analysis on select financial information and provide explanations that offer management insight and understanding of significant fluctuations.
- Provide accounting support for acquisitions by reviewing financial information, converting data to the general ledger system, and obtaining supplementary information for preparing financial statements.
- Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
- Accomplish accounting and organization missions by completing related results as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting or a related field preferred.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills required.
- Knowledge of ERP systems preferred, with Sage Intacct experience a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
- Proven ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Ability to read and analyze financial reports required.
