Construction Deputy Program Manager to support the execution and delivery of design-build services for four new borough-based jails in NYC to replace Rikers Island.
Responsibilities:
Drive program management in coordinating construction activities to ensure successful project completion.
Oversee the application of program level policies and procedures to ensure alignment with program objectives.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration among all parties involved on the project (s).
Provide leadership in management of contract, scope, budget, and staff. Maintain good working relationships and close interface with the client by ensuring that inquiries and concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
Lead a team of design and construction management staff consisting of site project managers, inspectors, schedulers, estimators, and site safety. Also provide coordination with design team, program controls team, and community outreach team, among other stakeholders.
Proactively identify problems or opportunities at the project level, analyze potential risks and seek to develop alternative mitigation approaches.
Provide financial oversight and assist in managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and forecasting costs to ensure project(s) remain within budgetary constraints.
Demonstrate a high standard of personal, accountability and integrity. Mentor staff to the same high standards.
Keep management informed on progress for project and budget through regularly scheduled Operations Review Meetings.
Preferred Skills:
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese a plus
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field with minimum of 15 years of experience in construction projects of various complexity, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale high rise construction projects.
Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and
engineering principles and techniques, as well as accounting principles.
Proven written and verbal communication abilities, proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
Must have advanced presentation skills. Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedule.
Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
Solid proficiency in construction management software and project management tools.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively as a team player.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in leading complex construction projects in design-build project delivery methods.
Experience working with New York City public agencies.
Solid interpersonal skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution abilities and capacity to build and maintain relationships.
Effective leadership capabilities with demonstrated ability to foster a positive and
collaborative work environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve challenges and generate effective solutions.
Proven ability to effectively communicate expectations and requirements with both clients and team members.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $208,000.00 - $249,600.00 per year
