Accounts Payable Assistant Job Description

Principle Function
This role reports to the Finance Director and is responsible for administratively supporting the finance department including, but not limited to, processing of check requests, compiling & maintaining accounts payable records, and data entry.
Responsibilities

Responsible for Full Cycle A/P process

Receive and review individual invoices

Prepare and distribute accounts payable checks

Reconcile vendor statements; research and correct discrepancies

Monitor and reconcile petty cash receipts

Prepare 1099’s as required by the IRS

Maintain W-9 records

Maintain and file all invoices and other applicable supporting documentation, i.e., receipt of goods or services, by vendor name
Job Requirements:

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel

Shelby accounting software experience a plus

Knowledge of basic accounting principles

Skill in the operation of standard office machinery including 10-key adding machine and keyboard.

Proficient 10-Key by touch

Ability to make involved and varied arithmetic computations rapidly and accurately.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor and other staff

Very detailed oriented

Strong organizational and time management skills

Able to prioritize and multi-task; must be self-starter and have a strong work ethic

Salary & Benefits
The part-time, hourly payrate will be commensurate with experience. This is a non-exempt 20 hour a week position on the Cinco Ranch campus Mondays-Thursdays.
Working Hours
You are encouraged to develop a working schedule that maximizes both time with your family and productive time accomplishing the job. The established workflow APtimeline requires availability on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for check processing. It is assumed that you will work a maximum of 20 hours per week Monday - Friday.
Work Authorization
Employees must be authorized to work in United States under Federal requirements.
