GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Human Resources Assistant is accountable for compiling, maintaining and processing information in collaboration with Human Resources Manager. This position is responsible for assisting the Human Resources Manager to ensure programs, practices and activities are administered in an effective and timely manner.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provide direct administrative support to Human Resources teams, through maintenance of employee files, new hire and orientation packages, responding to confirmation of employment requests by preparing letter of employment letters, and various reports as required (i.e.: recruitment/new hire, heath and safety statistics, training matrixes, absenteeism reports).
- Maintain Human Resources communications tools, such of Human Resources Boards in specified areas, as well as monitors in cafeteria.
- The Human Resources Assistant serves as a direct contact for Studio TK employees. He/she is responsible for responding to employee and general public inquiries regarding Human Resources matters. This is achieved through consultation with the Human Resources Managers and in accordance with the Human Resources Policies and Procedures manual. All inquiries and requests are conducted in a timely and professional manner.
- The Human Resources Assistant is accountable for assisting with the recruitment process through preparing and posting job vacancies, maintaining the intranet and internet job postings, announcements, assisting in screening job applicants, performing interviews for entry level positions, conducting basic references and preparing offer letters.
- In collaboration with Human Resources Manager, investigate and identify employee relations issues in a timely manner and assist with resolution as required.
- Work closely with Human Resources Manager to identify training and development needs in the manufacturing environment.
- This position will become involved in various special project programs as required.
QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Working towards Human Resources Management Certificate
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years Human Resources office experience
- Broad working knowledge of Human Resources practices and procedures
- Ability to handle highest level of confidentiality regarding employee information
- Strong organization, prioritization and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well independently as well as in a team
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
WORKING CONDITION:
- Must be comfortable sitting in entrance lobby next to Human Resources Manager office.
- Able to move freely throughout the building to access file cabinets, office equipment, supply room, etc., and ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
