Scope of Responsibility: This position is responsible for supporting the Solar marketing and customer engagement organization to include developing, implementing, and continuously improving the go-to-market strategy to generate significant growth for the Solar/Beam Segment. PM will be responsible for developing tools and processes to ensure proper training for the sales channel and overall tracking of the effectiveness of our go-to-market strategy. Working closely with manufacturing to drive effective, customer driven new product development and product launches. Also provide market leadership for the engineering, general management and manufacturing organizations in order to ensure our capabilities continue to provide a competitive advantage for Sabre in the industry.

Essential Duties
- Responsible for leading and managing product line profitability – including price analysis, margin analysis, cost analysis and capabilities analysis; management of all these key aspects
- Responsible for Project Management of all Beam / Solar projects at each of the three Fabrication and Galvanizing facilities
- Responsible for data entry and tracking within the Sabre Epicor system
- Accountable for defining industry needs, market opportunities, competitive analysis and overall customer drivers associated with product line; develop and lead strategic response accordingly
- Responsible for product development, aligning engineering and OPS capabilities and managing new product launches
- Responsible for training the sales organization (including our rep force) on product line
- Able to drive the following:
- Market Share
- Measure market share and develop countermeasures if Sabre’s share is less than the level needed to support the annual budget
- Develop and implement a competitive analysis tool
- Continually improve the tools and processes through system integration and automation
- Track and drive forecast accuracy to support S&OP process and supply chain commitments (Materials forecasting)
- Commercial Playbook – PM is responsible for the development of the Commercial Playbook and training, while Sales is responsible for execution of the tools and processes
- Develop the Commercial Playbook tools to include a gating process, customer segmentation, quote/proposal process and SWOT analysis
- Develop tools to support the Continuous Improvement Initiatives to include commercial countermeasures, engineering optimization, material optimization and lead time optimization
- Formalize the tools and teach the tools to the Sales Team, Project Managers and General Managers
- Price & Margin Analysis and Management
- Develop tools to show product line profitability for all product areas
- With market conditions in mind, manage the price and margin for the individual product lines by working closely with Sales and Engineering
- Understand and utilize each individual plant’s operational and engineering capabilities to make the best decisions during the quoting/proposal process
- Perform a cost to serve analysis by customer
- Take an active role in coordinating the materials management and considering this key variable in the pricing process
- Drive the optimal use of quoting tools to continually improve the use of automation in performing the analysis and management of each product line
- New Product Development – Using information from the market, customers and competitors, develop the rationale to support New product development
- Develop and lead the New Product Introduction (NPI) Process
- Develop the business case and associated Marketing Plan to support new product launches and justification
- Validate the needs for new structures development related to industry trends
- Marketing Programs
- Develop and launch marketing programs consistent with our value proposition that will support our strategic growth plans
- Formalize the Selling Message and train the sales team (including our rep channel) on how to effectively deliver the message
- Create a library of Case Studies to support our unique capabilities that we can use to effectively educate the industry
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related business area – engineering degree preferred.
- At least 2 years’ experience (sales, marketing, operations, engineers, etc) – Solar business experience preferred
- Knowledge of and experience with 6 Sigma and/or Lean preferred
- Experience of Epicor or other ERP systems preferred
- Product Management experience preferred
- Operational Management experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
· Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in workflow and constantly changing priorities.
· Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with the ability to move throughout the office or outside manufacturing plant as needed.
· Must be able to perform physical activities that require use of fingers, hands and arms, such as sitting, typing, using office equipment and reaching. Some additional physical activities may require walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials.
· Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual.
· Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources.
· Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing as well as answer telephones and greet customers.
