SUMMARY
Performs a variety of accounting duties including creating invoices, applying payments, entering vouchers, issuing checks, etc. Resolves discrepancies. Reconciles accounts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks and credit card transactions
- Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions from lock box and local deposits
- Updates receivables by totaling unpaid invoices.
- Maintains customer records
- Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, customer service departments and from customers.
- Resolves valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries.
- Resolves invalid or unauthorized deductions by following pending deductions procedures.
- Resolves collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line; coordinating contact with collections department.
- Summarized receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; coordinating monthly transfer to accounts receivable account; verifying totals; preparing report.
- Collects accounts by contacting customers referred by clerks; investigating circumstances of non-payment; negotiating and resolving conflicts; expediting payment.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Reviews and determines the validity of sales tax exemption certification.
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Answers phones
- Processes Accounts Payable
- Uses 3 way match to verify AP invoices
- Enters vouchers into ERP System
- Files
- Helps with check runs
- Processes expense reports
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Some college accounting courses preferred. Organization, accounting, data entry, computer skills, general math skills, financial software, ability to analyze information, attention to detail, follow-through, verbal and written communication and reporting skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects tolls, or controls, see, talk and hear. Able to use a keyboard, calculator, phone and other office equipment as required. .The employee may be required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
