Society Insurance is seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Governance Analyst II to join our Enterprise Data Governance team. The Enterprise Data Governance Analyst II will execute the data strategy initiatives across the data management life cycle and align multi-year strategic roadmaps with Society’s business goals. It will support the user community in Data Governance activities, run the day-to-day data governance office efforts, and provide guidance to stakeholders. Build the foundational elements of a data governance program by turning complex governance concepts into practical and applicable solutions that support the business. Ensure alignment with business objectives, establish prioritization criteria, and integrate data governance into projects and processes.
About the Role

Creates, prepares, and standardizes data quality reports for business in PowerBI and monitors error remediation.

Manages the Data Catalog tool by making changes as requested by the business, creating new entries, and managing definition and lineage within the tool according to process.

Helps to identify and deploy best practices such as data standardization, lineage, data deduplication, mapping and transformation, and business ownership.

Works with the business to ensure data ownership and definition approval. Resolve multiple sources of truth issues with key stakeholders via clear standardized definitions.

Works closely with IT on new attribute requests. Drives identification and end-to-end lineage of critical data elements and certification of enterprise data assets.

Drives the adoption of our governance practices in the form of managing the metadata management tool and data quality reports.

Creates processes, drive definition validation, data ownership, and approval processes.

Participates in working groups that will make you a trusted partner in the stewardship of critical data for the business.

Participates in the development, application, and adherence of data management policies, standard processes and procedures, and trains functional data stewards on processes.

Collaborates with various stakeholders on objectives identified in data governance and on the data management roadmap

Understands the impact of data relationships, data life cycles, and data processes continually working to improve data quality.

Participates in data literacy training development, documentation, and communication while supporting data stewards.

What it Will Take
-
Bachelor's degree in a related field (management discretion).

At least 5 years’ experience in data analyst and/or data management and/or data governance.

Excellent work ethic: Exhibits ability to self-manage, scope, prioritize, and communicate operational work deliverables and deadlines on an ongoing basis.

Experience working with IT project managers, architects, and developers translating technical data into business language and vice versa.

Leads and/or supports facilitation of TEAMS meetings, sessions, and trainings to increase data governance awareness and drive data literacy.

Experience with Agile project management principles and tools (Azure DevOps a plus).

Ability to analyze, solve difficult problems, and improve processes.
