Job Summary: We are an international, growing hospitality group based in New York City, seeking a highly motivated Junior Staff Accountant to join our New York team. The Junior Accountant will play an important role in supporting the daily operations of the group, performing various accounting and administrative duties. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Finance and Accounting / Accounting Manager and requires strong analytical and communication skills, the ability to work independently, as well as within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records, ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis of financial statements.

Accurately input financial transactions, invoices, and other relevant data into accounting software or spreadsheets.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining monthly balance sheet reconciliations for relevant accounts including Cash, Prepaids, Revenue and Intercompany.

Data Management: Organize and maintain company documents, financial records and databases. Ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Bank Reconciliation: assist with reconciling bank statements to internal records to ensure accuracy of financial transactions and identify any discrepancies.

Respond to inquiries from management regarding financial results, special reporting requests and other ad-hoc projects.

Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), internal policies, and regulations.

Participate in the implementation of new accounting software and systems.

Manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Adapt to changing circumstances, deadlines and assist with ad-hoc projects/analysis as required.
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business

Minimum of 1-2 years of accounting experience

Strong knowledge of US GAAP

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task

Proficient in Microsoft Office, with ERP experience
