Role Summary
To support Maud Borup, by creating and providing sweets, snack, and food product samples for the purposes of product development and sales and their related activities. This is a safety sensitive position.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare samples in the test kitchen for product presentations and line reviews to make sure timelines being met.
- Assist in new product development of chocolate and cotton candy items.
- Coordinate daily test kitchen activities including product showings, tastings, and dish washings.
- Manage sample requests to ensure a timely and thorough completion.
- Assist in preparing sample shipments to customers.
- Manage inventory of test kitchen ingredients and supplies.
- Organize and maintain study and retain samples.
- Work cross-functionally with R&D, Purchasing, Marketing and Production.
- Responsible for recipe formulation and managing recipe database. This needs to be well organized system with accurate recipes for the team to use in production.
Qualifications and Skills
- Conscientious and responsible.
- Needs to be open to feedback and reworking recipes repeatedly till fully perfected.
- Has patience and can-do attitude towards daily to do list.
- Sense of urgency to get things done for the team.
- A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a kitchen environment including prep and cleanup.
- Basic computer skills.
- Easily adapts when unexpected situations or projects arise.
Physical Requirements
Office environment 20% of the time and test kitchen 80% of the time. Requires the ability to stand and move about the test kitchen for hour-long periods at a time. Must be able to bend, stand/walk for 8 hours or more, and lift up to 25 pounds.
