Job Description:
Lead Preschool Teacher for an older 2's - young 3's-year-old classroom, and a PreK teacher for a Reggio inspired Lutheran Preschool in Encinitas.
Qualifications:
* Passionate about working with children, teachers and families, interest or experience in play-based education, faith education and Reggio. Wants to be a part of our group of educators dedicated to working together and creating an environment full of joy, wonder, exploring, respect, and love.
* Ability to create and maintain a warm and positive classroom environment which promotes mutual respect. Acknowledge and respect the integrity of each child and encourage the development of positive self-image to allow the child to explore and learn comfortably and be successful.
* Plan and implement age-appropriate activities within the Reggio Emilia philosophy in all areas such as: language, art, dramatic play, social/emotional development, problem solving, and the outdoor environment.
* Must be a "Fully Qualified Teacher" defined by the Department of Social Service in Title 22. Has a minimum of two years’ experience with young children in a classroom setting, preferable with at least one-year prior experience as a lead teacher. Working in play based, Reggio and Lutheran school is a plus.
* The employee shall be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions towards others.
*Current TB clearance and CPR certificate.
* Complete up to 16 hours of Health and Safety Training. (Pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 1596.866)
* This position meets the requirements for a mandated reporter. Current certificate required for this position.
* A cleared physical health screen completed prior to hire. Current immunizations record for pertussis and measles. Employees must have the ability to lift children of up to 35 pounds from the floor to waist; to crouch to a child’s height and maintain eye contact at a child’s level; to sit on the floor; to stand tall enough to reach children who are on the playground equipment.
*FBI/Dept. of Justice Livescan background check and clearance with association through Community Care Licensing required prior to hire.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.64 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
