We are seeking a Technical Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for writing and a keen eye for detail to produce high-quality technical documentation.
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, English, Education, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of practical experience in a technical writing and editing role.
Skills and Abilities:
- Extraordinary writing ability with a portfolio demonstrating skills across various mediums, including knowledge base content, how-to articles, videos, and narrative work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with fine attention to detail.
- Ability to simplify complex technical information for a diverse audience.
- Experience editing, weiting, and explaining highly technical data and information in simplistic language for en users.
- Ability to research, learn and synthesize information.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience facilitating group meetings or group projects.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
- An analytical mind with the ability to write clearly, concisely, and in a neutral way.
- Ability to create and manage documentation in multiple formats (PDF, HTML, online help systems).
- Ability to gather and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and suggest solutions.
- Proficiency in using editing software tools.
Technical Proficiency:
- Proficiency in documentation tools such as MadCap, Flare, Adobe, FrameMaker, or similar.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
- Experience with API documentation tools like Swagger, Postman, or similar.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Write, edit, and meticulously proofread technical documents in response to client requests and requirements, adhering to established schedules and deadlines.
- Develop technical documentation, including user guides, manuals, and API documentation, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to gather information and insights.
- Plan and organize the structure of documentation to meet user needs and enhance usability.
- Create content outlines and documentation plans to guide the writing process.
- Edit and proofread documentation to ensure it adheres to company standards and maintains a consistent writing style.
- Create user-friendly guides and tutorials to assist users in navigating and utilizing our products or services.
- Manage configuration control over all technical documents.
- Attend meetings with product development teams to stay informed about new features and updates.
- Ensure that content aligns with industry best practices and tools to enhance efficiency.
- Provide support to internal teams for understanding and utilizing documentation effectively.
