Wholesale Bakery seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to join our team. The Facilities Manager will manage the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the wholesale bakery, ensuring that production and distribution processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This role involves running routine safety inspections and quality control measures, corresponding with contractors, planning maintenance work, maintaining records, managing staff and managing systems for logistics and inventory management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Oversee the maintenance of buildings and grounds, including custodial functions, and inspect and repair electrical, plumbing, and structural issues
· Ensure the facility is in optimal condition ensuring efficiency, cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
· Coordinate renovations and updates, including the installation of new equipment, and manage the upkeep of all equipment and supplies
· Develop and oversee a maintenance schedule for all aspects of plant including bakery equipment to minimize downtime.
· Monitor production area processes to ensure equipment meets the needs of established quality standards.
· Oversee storage and warehousing operations, ensuring efficient use of space and resources.
· Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operations - including training and performance goals.
· Coordinate with various departments to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance.
· Manage resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
· Coordinate and monitor external vendors for maintenance and repairs.
· Conduct regular training sessions on safety procedures and best practices.
· Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and rectify any quality issues.
· Generate regular reports on production, maintenance, and financial performance for senior management.
· Identify and implement areas for efficiency improvement, waste reduction and implement process enhancements.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, business administration, facilities management, or a related field.
· 5+ years of experience in plant or facilities management, preferably in the food production industry.
· Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills, knowledge of health and safety regulations and technology integration; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Relevant certifications in facilities management or food safety (e.g., HACCP, SQF) are a plus.
· Physical demands, including standing for long periods and being able to lift 50 pounds.
· Working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
· Schedule flexibility required – including capability to respond to emergency maintenance issues at any time. Some evenings and weekends required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
