Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team. As an MRI Technologist, you will operate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners to create diagnostic images of patients' internal organs and tissues. Your responsibilities will include preparing patients for procedures, operating MRI equipment to capture images, monitoring patient safety and comfort, and ensuring the proper functioning of equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for MRI procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Position patients correctly on the MRI table and immobilize them as necessary to obtain clear images.
- Operate MRI scanners to capture high-quality images of patients' internal organs and tissues.
- Monitor patients during procedures to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Adjust MRI equipment settings to optimize image quality.
- Evaluate images for quality and ensure that they meet diagnostic requirements.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret images and provide patient care.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of MRI equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks to patients and staff.
- Stay current with advances in MRI technology and participate in continuing education to maintain licensure and certification.
Requirements:
- Associate degree or higher in radiologic technology or a related field.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MRI.
- State licensure as a radiologic technologist.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient care and safety.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience as an MRI Technologist.
- Advanced certification in MRI technology.
- Experience with specific MRI equipment and software platforms.
