Enkai Sushi Bar is located in Yacht Haven Grande and open Tuesday through Saturday from 11am-10pm. We are looking for a dedicated, organized dishwasher who enjoys working as part of a team in a fast-paced culinary environment. The dishwasher’s duties include gathering soiled plates and flatware from bins behind the bar, washing them thoroughly, and placing them back in rotation with all the other clean items. They may also clean appliances and machines, empty and clean trash receptacles, and other duties, as needed.
To be successful as a dishwasher, you should be a committed, communicative team player with excellent time management skills. You should be able to prioritize tasks in a busy setting and adhere to all food safety regulations and procedures.
Dishwasher Responsibilities
- Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas
- Load and unload machine
- Wash specific items by hand
- Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately
- Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils, especially during peak hours
- Check washing machines’ operation and promptly report any technical/performance issues
- Remove garbage regularly
- Sanitize the kitchen area, including the floor
Dishwasher Skills & Requirements
- Work experience as a Dishwasher or on Wait Staff preferred
- Hands-on experience with industrial washing machines preferred
- Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed (such as putting away clean & folded towels, taking rice out of cooker, seasoning and stirring until cool)
- Time management skills
- Attention to detail and sanitation rules
- Availability to work in shifts, during weekends and evenings
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to stand or walk for 8-hour shifts and lift at least 20 pounds
- Willingness to comply with all food safety procedures.
