MSU Culinary Services is hiring full-time Cook III positions! We have openings 7 days a week! We are hiring motivated team members who are excited to actively participate in the ever changing world of the high-paced food industry.
- Full-time positions are 40 hours per week and are eligible for over-time and benefits including insurance, retirement, tuition waiver, holiday pay, and annual & sick leave.
- Part-time employees work up to 16 hours a week. Eligible to receive holiday pay and annual & sick leave pay on a prorated basis.
Culinary Services Division (CSD), a division of Auxiliary Services, provides meals and specialty beverages for over 18,000 customers daily and is an integral part of campus life and the overall college experience. CSD proudly provides Montana State University students with not only a repertoire of various cuisines, cooking styles, and flavors, but a comfortable atmosphere to meet friends, study, and simply relax. The division is comprised of 2 residential dining halls, a commissary kitchen, 3 coffee shops and the Union Market retail operation, Brick Breeden Fieldhouse and Bobcat Stadium Concessions, Fork in the Road food truck, MSU Catering, Indulge In-House Bakery, and the Farm to Campus Program.
Our division offers shifts to meet your needs. We have hours available 7 days a week from 5:30am – 9:30pm or later if you are working a special event with MSU Catering or Concessions. This position is OT eligible!
Under direction from the production management staff, the Cook III will be assigned to manage production and service for one concept within a large volume/high activity dining hall.
- Skillfully prepares a wide variety of recipes while positively and professionally interacting with customers.
- Ensures quality product is being served.
- As directed by the management team will train and direct staff.
- Monitors inventory, keeps records, and orders accordingly.
- Directs the cleaning, disposition and storage of foods, supplies, and equipment.
- Properly handles food in accordance with FDA food codes.
- Directs staff in the cleaning of areas and equipment in accordance with the sanitarians recommendations.
- Performs other general kitchen duties.
- And actively contributes to the team by performing other duties as needed in support of the department’s mission.
Expand your culinary skills with special trainings provided during break times on things like advanced knife skills, sauce classes, to decorating cakes.
Positions are located on the Montana State University Campus in Bozeman, MT.
