MARION Math, Science & Technology Magnet is seeking a teacher for Discovery Lab:K-6 GT Teacher. This teacher is responsible for facilitating gifted and talented enrichment programs, STEM, and other activities for K-6 students weekly. The role involves designing and implementing innovative curriculum and activities to challenge and engage students, fostering their intellectual, creative, and critical thinking skills. The Discovery Lab/GT Teacher collaborates with classroom teachers and administrators to provide a supportive and enriching learning environment for students.
Provide direct GT services to all students in grades K-6 on a weekly basis for a minimum of 30 minutes per week that compliments the MST magnet theme.
Provide enrichment lessons to all K-6 students in correlation with the MSD TEAM Program Scope and Sequence.
Provide ongoing documentation of weekly GT K-6 Enrichment lessons and student samples.
Assist GT coordinator with administering the Raven test as used as a whole group screener for GT (3rd grade)
Assist teachers in making referrals for GT identification beginning in 4th grade.
Organize supplies needed for providing direct GT enrichment services to K-6 students.
Assist GT Coordinator with Spring GT testing as needed.
Provide a list of supplies for Whole Group Enrichment services.
Assist in providing support for regular classroom teachers with gifted students in their classroom.
Assist in parent meetings and faculty professional development.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Valid K-6 teaching license

Certification in Gifted and Talented Education (GT)
