Position: Staff Accountant

Objective
The Staff Accountant will process accounts payable, establish and maintain company records, participate in special projects, and assist as directed.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university or equivalent experience
Competencies Required for Effective Performance
- Must possess basic mathematic skills, the ability to analyze figures, knowledge of accounting principles and excellent verbal and written skills
- Must be able to multi-task, establish priorities and organize efficiently
- Knowledge of computers and familiarity with QuickBooks or accounting software is also essential
- Maintain financial reports, records and general ledgers, prepare and analyze budgets and perform general bookkeeping
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, especially Excel)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Controller with the day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the Finance Department including cash forecast management and budget review and analysis
- Perform the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions and ensure that all invoices and staff reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with the company’s Accounting & Finance policies and procedures
- Manage the processing of receipts, recording of revenue and receivable and work closely with the Cash Posting team to ensure that revenues and receivables in RX are reconciled with QuickBooks data at any given time
- Review and process AMEX expense reports and receipts submitted by cardholders on monthly basis
- Perform the processing of expense allocations, monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries, if necessary
- Prepare and analyze the monthly budget/forecast to actual variance reports per program and department
- Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer’s benefit costs, accruals and prepaid expenses
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance
- Monitor and collect data to assess accuracy and integrity; analyze data; ensure compliance with applicable standards (i.e. GAAP, HIPAA, OIG), rules, regulations and systems of internal control; interpret and evaluate results, prepare documentation; create financial reports and/or presentations
- Other duties to assist the Controller in meeting the Accounting/ Finance objectives

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
