Our team in Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Materials Chemical Process Technician on 2nd Shift (2:00pm-10:30pm) to join them. You will report to our Material & Process Site Engineering Manager. You will support chemical process production to support manufacturing of Moog’s complex electrohydraulic, electromechanical, mechanical and electro-pneumatic components, production for Plating and Heat Treat departments. You will have an onsite work schedule at Moog aerospace plant in Torrance, CA.
To be considered, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
- AAS degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or Chemical Technology or equivalent or as an alternative, 2 years of college level education with additional related work experience.
Or
- High school, GED or equivalent plus 5 or more years of work experience in the chemical processing of metals field.
- Knowledge of metallic chemical processing; chemical conversion coating, passivation, cleaning, and electroplating
- Computer skills such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Important responsibilities as a Materials (Chemical) Process Technician:
- Provide technical support of chemical processing within Moog.
- Ensure all processes are available, monitoring processing and lab equipment condition/replacement needs, tracking parameters to ensure safety of hardware and operators and product, ensure all documentation is current and coordinate with EH&S.
- Perform chemical analysis of processing solutions using procedures such as titrations, pH measurements, conductivity, and ICP.
- Perform analysis on hydraulic oil fluids such as particle count and water content.
- Perform analysis for special processes to be released for production within specification ranges.
- Manage chemical inventory of production line and chemical laboratory.
- Perform chemical additions and adjustments of process chemistry based off analytical data and trends.
- Coordinate with operators and production to ensure testing and troubleshooting are performed promptly.
- Input data and results into chemical management software (Truechem).
- Solve chemical processing difficulties.

Salary Range:
Pay range for this opportunity is $57,262.80- $76,814.40 + 10% shift differential, working on 2nd shift
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
