Must have at least 5 years in a Controller position, preferably in Home Care, Hospice or Healthcare industries. Must have current or recent experience in QuickBooks. Must have 3 years experience in a management position.
Key Responsibilities of Finance Manager:
- Provide administrative leadership for Accounting, Business Office, Health Information Management, and Materials Management.
- Develop, interpret, coordinate, and administer company policies on fiscal issues including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, payroll, billing, budgeting, revenue cycle, materials management, and reimbursement.
- Oversee all financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger and cash flow management. Overseeing previously in a Home Care, Health Care or Hospice setting preferred.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Manage and monitor the company’s cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports to senior management.
- Responsible for compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal payroll and employment taxes and other corporate business regulations and filing requirements.
- Direct the organization’s finance activities including accounting, strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, acquisitions, reporting, banking relationships, and working capital to support existing core businesses and growth opportunities.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Utilize advanced Excel functions to analyze financial data and generate insightful reports.
- Manage QuickBooks accounting software for all financial transactions, reconciliations, and reporting. Previous experience in QuickBooks in a Home Care, Health Care or Hospice setting preferred.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives and business decision-making.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, and performance evaluation.
- Develop and maintain a system of company-wide checks and balances pertaining to financial policies and protocols to ensure internal controls and safeguarding of all financial assets and processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and special projects to streamline and consolidate business processes.

- Prepare and analyze all internal and external financial data, including month-end close, budgets, forecasts, financial statements, and monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
- Provide information to the leadership and management team monthly and present at Executive and Board level meetings.
- Manage the timely collection of receivables each month.
Qualifications of Finance Manager:
- Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred, but not required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience in the homecare, home health, hospice or healthcare industry is preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions.
- Current or recent experience and current knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Experience working with finance and accounting software packages, knowledge of CPSI preferred.
- Prior experience with interpreting and negotiating payer contracts.
- Proven ability to manage and develop a finance team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Controller must have understanding of federal, state, and managed care reimbursement payment methodologies.
