Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team focused on lighting manufacturing. As an Electrical Engineer specializing in lighting, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving electrical systems and components integral to our lighting products. This role combines technical expertise in electrical engineering with a deep understanding of lighting technologies and their application in manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development:
- Develop electrical schematics, diagrams, and layouts for lighting systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product design, mechanical engineering, and manufacturing to integrate electrical systems into lighting products.
Prototype Testing and Validation:
- Design and conduct tests to evaluate prototype electrical systems and components.
- Analyze test data and iterate designs to optimize performance, efficiency, and reliability.
Component Selection and Integration:
- Select appropriate electrical components such as LEDs, drivers, sensors, and control systems based on project requirements and performance criteria.
- Work closely with suppliers to evaluate and qualify components for use in lighting products.
Manufacturing Support:
- Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during production, ensuring smooth integration of electrical systems into assembly processes.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues on the production floor and implement corrective actions as needed.
Research and Innovation:
- Stay updated on emerging trends and advancements in lighting technology and electrical engineering.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and propose new concepts or improvements to existing products.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including design specifications, test reports, and compliance records.
- Ensure designs meet safety, performance, and regulatory standards such as UL, CE, and Energy Star.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in electrical design and development within the lighting industry, with a strong understanding of LED technology, drivers, and lighting controls.
- Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical).
- Hands-on experience with electrical testing equipment and methodologies.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to electrical systems and lighting products.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to innovate and optimize designs for performance and cost-efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
