Senior Behavior Technician
Pay: $23 - $25 hourly (based on experience and education)Company Overview:

Role: Behavior Technician
The Behavior Technician delivers person-centered and behavioral support to individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (IDD), mental health diagnoses, and complex medical needs. This role involves direct assistance, supervision, and behavioral management, as well as teaching home and community-based living skills. The Behavior Technician promotes community participation and integration, fostering independence and joy for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and supervision to individuals with IDD and mental health diagnoses.
- Implement Positive Support Strategies and behavior management techniques.
- Assist with home and community-based living skills.
- Promote community integration and participation.
- Monitor and interpret behavioral trends.
- Manage crisis situations and daily events with sound judgment and decision-making.
Qualifications:
1 of the 3 items listed below:
- Holds a 4 year degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related field to developmental disabilities (e.g mental health, psychology, social work, special education, speech pathology, or occupational therapy) AND has at least 1 year of experience working with individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities/related conditions with high behaviors, behavioral health or psychiatric setting.
- Holds a 2 year degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related field to developmental disabilities (e.g mental health, psychology, social work, special education, speech pathology, or occupational therapy) AND has at least 2 years of experience working with individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities/related conditions with high behaviors, behavioral health or psychiatric setting.
- 4 years of experience working with individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities/related conditions with high behaviors, behavioral health or psychiatric setting, along with a minimum of 50 hours education and training related to human services and disabilities
And:
- Minimum of 2 years experience working with individuals exhibiting high behaviors (biting, hitting, kicking).
- At least 2 years experience with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and chronic medical conditions.
- Proven experience in implementing Positive Support Strategies and behavior management techniques.
- Skilled in de-escalation and restraint techniques.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Understanding of person-centered thinking and planning (preferred).
- Knowledge of vulnerable adult laws, 245D statutes, and state regulations applicable to HCBS.
- Ability to pass a background check from the MN Department of Human Services.
- Valid Driver’s License, a working vehicle, and a clean driving record.
- Good attendance and adaptability.
- Availability to work weekends for full-time status.
