Under minimal supervision, this position manages and directs Construction, Maintenance, Work Management, and Service Operations staff, assignments, maintenance activities and restoration. The Superintendent also responds to system disturbances, incident command activations, and mutual aid deployments impacting Austin Energy’s and/or requesting utilities infrastructure. This position is responsible for ensuring reporting staff have the appropriate training, resources, and equipment to safely install, maintain, and restore medium and low voltage electrical systems (15kv — 120v). This position manages staff in excess of 60 full time employees (FTE’s) along with multi-million dollar operations and maintenance budgets.
