Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
The Shipping and Receiving Lead, is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments and receiving incoming shipments. Their duties include organizing inventory for easy retrieval as new orders come in, reviewing incoming and outgoing shipment schedules to maintain productive operations and documenting damages to inventory.
REPORTS TO:
The Shipping and Receiving Lead reports directly to the Director of Maintenance
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Trains current and new staff

Oversees the daily workflow of the department

Provides constructive and timely performance input
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Follow all Federal, Airside MRO, and OSHA regulations where applicable.

Packaging and crating of delicate aircraft components
-
Ensuring accuracy of shipment and supporting documentation
-
Receive incoming material and routing to appropriate area or personnel
-
Must display exceptional attention to detail as well as solid organizational skills
-
Ability to work independently and unsupervised once you have received proper training
-
Must be familiar with the most common material handling equipment
-
Maintain shipping/receiving department as well as the storage yard in a clean, well-organized manner
-
Perform forklift training to those employees that require
-
Serve as supervisor of the shipping/receiving department
-
Provide OJT training to any employees assigned to the department
-
Keeping updated inventory on the items used in the department (i.e., boxes, tapes, packing foams, etc.)
-
Obtain and process product orders, including receiving deliveries, registering them and distributing packages and letters within the company.

Maintain the company shipping department through organizing, cleaning and cataloging items on a regular basis.

Schedule large shipments and plan logistics to ensure that there is sufficient storage space for incoming items and staff on hand to manage the shipments.

Keep files of goods shipped and received by preparing regular shipping and receiving reports for managers.

Handle issues arising in shipping or inventory handling.

Ensure adherence to environmental management and systems.

Trouble shoots shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to solve them.

Place merchandise in a warehouse or storage facility by packaging, lifting items as necessary, operating forklifts and pallet jacks for large goods.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent require
-
1-2 years of shipping/receiving experience or equivalent on-the-job training

Required to lift 50lbs.

Must have a valid driver's license

Able to lift 50 lbs.

Forklift Certified or able to get certification
-
Experience with UPS/FedEx/DHL online shipping software
-
HazMat shipping certified or able to get certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to stand, lie, and kneel in awkward positions and spaces

Must be able to perform work on scaffolding or ladders

Must be able to lift and pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds at a time

Manual dexterity and physical strength necessary to operate tools or make adjustments and repairs

Must have visual acuity to inspect equipment and identify defects
