Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Library Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in various library tasks, including data entry, customer service, and supporting library services.
Duties:
- Organize and maintain library materials, including shelving books and other resources
- Assist patrons with locating materials and using library resources
- Perform data entry tasks to update library databases and catalog information
- Support the computerization of library services by utilizing integrated library systems
- Conduct data collection, research, and writing tasks as needed
- Provide excellent customer service to library visitors and respond to inquiries
Experience:
- Experience working in a library setting is preferred
- Proficiency in using databases and integrated library systems
- Strong computer skills for data entry and utilizing digital resources
- Ability to computerize library services efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patrons and colleagues
- Knowledge of library services, data collection, research, and writing is a plus
