Reports To: Operations Manager
Primary Functions: Supervise, support, and coach employees within the Machining Department conducting the following primary and secondary operations:
- HMC Machining
- LMC Machining
- Grinding
- Heat Treat
- Shot Blasting
- Straightening
- VMC Machining
- Deburring
- Buffing
- Leak testing
- Pressing
- Sawing
- Final Audit
- Packing
- CNC Setup
Duties and Overall Responsibilities
- Monitor, correct and improve department Efficiency/Utilization/Productivity metrics daily
- Develop, coach, and hold staff accountable to performance and company policies as required
- Address and correct opportunities identified through the employee safety suggestion system
- Move production employees as needed to maintain productivity/delivery requirements
- Use critical thinking to solve manufacturing issues across the plant
- Stock perishable tooling in vending system to support production
- Monitor CNC Setup personnel to assure approvals for production
- Direct department Material Handlers as necessary
- Assist with ERP system and inventory transactions
- Maintain housekeeping initiatives
- Assist with employee training
- Administrative paperwork
- Performs other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements
The physical requirements for this position require intermittent standing, walking, bending, sitting, pushing/pulling and lifting of parts up to 50 pounds. The Machining Supervisor should have the physical and mental ability to perform the above necessary job functions while maintaining an exemplary safety record.
General Skills and Experience
- 2-5+ years supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment (machining preferred)
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements with minimal interruption of normal workflow
- Excellent time management skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret manufacturing documents such as prints, instruction manuals, process sheets, work instructions, and safety documents
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
