Lab Analyst I
Duties and responsibilities:
The Lab Analyst prepares and analyzes samples with accuracy and precision using instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies. This position works independently and as part of a team to meet daily production targets and ensure turnaround times are met.
- Sample labeling
- Sample weighing
- Sample extractions
- Sample digestions
- Sample dilutions
- Sample analysis
- Recording data
- Inputting data
- Sanitizing glassware
- Sample disposal
- Uses and updates LIMS to track and manage workload.
- Instrument operation, troubleshooting, calibration, and quality control tracking.
- Preparation of mobile phases, stock solutions, standards and controls and other reagents.
Candidates must have:
- Proficient computer skills
- Self-motivation, accountability, adaptability, and a positive attitude
- The availability to work flexible schedules when required (must be able to train and work on weekends).
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- The ability to handle client records and data according to strict privacy and confidentiality guidelines

Qualifications:
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Lab experience- Chemistry or Environmental experience preferred
- Working on weekends is required
- Holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or Biology or holds a current license as a Clinical Laboratory Personnel, as defined in section 483.803, F.S., from the Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel
Schedule (in order of availability)
(1) Monday thru Friday 2:00PM-10:30PM
(2) Tuesday-Saturday working 11:30 am- 8:00 pm.
