Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our R&D team as a Laboratory Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the testing, analysis, and development of Nulixir’s proprietary products. The ideal candidate will have excellent laboratory skills and a passion for the food industry. You will be part of a small team working on producing novel consumer good formulations.
Day-to-day Responsibilities
- Supporting scientists in the product development and optimization of food products, processes, and formulations, adhering to guidelines and directions to ensure precise development.
- Conducting various tests and analyses on food samples using laboratory equipment and techniques, including but not limited to:
- Chemical analysis (moisture content, pH, etc.).
- Quality analysis (shelf-life, stability, etc.).
- Sensory evaluation (taste, texture, aroma, etc.).
- Documenting accurate records of test results, procedures, and observations.
- Managing inventory of lab ingredients and supplies to maintain optimal levels.
- Coordinating receiving and shipping of samples.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization within the laboratory space, ensuring readiness for testing activities at all times.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including research and development, quality assurance, and production, to support product development and improvement initiatives.
- Participating in food safety and quality assurance activities, including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Contributing to the identification and resolution of quality issues, deviations, and non-conformances.
- Following standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
Some Things We Consider Important in This Role:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately perform tests and interpret data.
- 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting with proficiency in using laboratory equipment such as DLS and software for analysis and documentation.
- Adaptability and a willingness to learn new techniques and methodologies.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality assurance principles.
- Experience working in a GMP environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
