SoftDev is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Technical Writer/Editor on a contract basis.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works within a project team, under general supervision of a Program Director.
- Composes technical documentation, communications materials, toolkits, publications, reports, etc.
- Produces high-quality projects and technical documentation that meets applicable 508 Accessibility Standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
- Conducts research and ensures the use of proper language for materials.
- Translates information into plain language and readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel.
- Maintains required project documentation in a project documentation repository.
- Maintains content in the project's website developed in WordPress.
- Provides support, subject matter expertise, consultation and works collaboratively with integrated project team.
- Maintains a highly effective level of communication with the customer and team members in other geographical locations.
- Participates in project Lessons Learned, process improvement, and Closeout activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5+ years of technical writing/editing experience.
- Superior verbal and written communication.
- Thorough understanding of 508 Accessibility Standards.
- Ability to update website content developed in WordPress.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Experience supporting U.S. government in a client-facing role, experience working with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) preferred.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast pace changing environment.
- Experience or understanding of Health IT, and/or Health Care Quality Programs
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast pace changing environment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Self-motivated, well organized, and detail oriented.

This is a contract position, potentially a contract-to-hire position, dependent on the individual and future work awarded to SoftDev.
