JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
**Candidates for this position must be of good moral character, have high integrity and be above reproach as an example to our students.**
Educate students in accordance with National Aviation Academy’s approved curriculum. Provide the knowledge and professional skills that enable our students to gain and maintain employment as an Aviation Maintenance Technician upon completion of the Aviation Maintenance Technician program. Work as a team member with all other instructors and staff in order to ensure that we will produce expertly trained graduates who are in demand in the industry. All instructors must conduct themselves in the most professional manner possible with their students.
Each instructor will maintain a daily planner that details all the subject matter that must be covered each day. The lesson plans will meet or exceed the approved curriculum in each subject area.
Maintain a work book that will list all practical projects to be administered to the students as required by the approved curriculum.
Maintain a record in order to keep attendance and make-up hour data, grades of exams and projects.
The instructor will provide complete and up to date attendance and grade records to the Director of Education in order to monitor Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Upon completion of each term, the instructor will provide all completed grade and exam information to the Director or Education for SAP.
Maintain a classroom environment that is neat in appearance and well organized.
The instructor must coordinate with the Hangar Supervisor for use of the hangar, facility and comply with the Hangar operation and safety procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
To provide adequate instruction and supervision of the students, all instructors must have mechanic certificates with ratings applicable to subjects taught.
Additionally, NAA requires that its instructors have at least three (3) years’ experience (either private or military experience is acceptable).
NEW INSTRUCTOR REQUIREMENTS
- Three or more years work experience is required in aircraft maintenance, experience maintaining transport category aircraft is preferred.
- Hands on experience working as an Avionics/Electrical Technician (preferably in a supervisory capacity) is most desirable.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining a wide variety of aircraft systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of Airmen Certification Standards (ACS) specifically the general subjects required to receive a rating of Airframe or Power Plant.
- Exhibit the ability to use, follow, develop and update lesson plans and curriculum guides.
- Possess the ability to interact and communicate well with a diverse group of students while maintaining control of the classroom environment.
- Demonstrate the ability to instruct students using a comprehensive and detailed curriculum in a manner that is easily understood and retained.
- Must be able to work and cooperate well with the other instructors; be willing to make constructive observations about the students, the curriculum, facilities and equipment.
- Display a professional demeanor at all times.

Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma required, Post-Secondary Degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
- Basic understanding of Internet.
- FAA A & P Mechanic Certification is required.
- This position requires a strong electronics background
- FCC Elements 1, 3 and 8 preferred
- NCATT AET certification preferred
- All applicants must pass a drug screen and background check

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
