Odyssey Behavioral Healthcare’s diverse network of programs treats adults and adolescents with eating disorders, psychiatric disorders, dual diagnoses, and addictive disorders under three distinct networks: Psychiatric, Eating Disorder, and Outpatient. Providing a continuum of care that includes inpatient, intensive residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, detoxification, and transitional living programs, Odyssey operates facilities and provides affiliated outpatient services in over 35 locations and across nine states with over 600 total beds.
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing all payroll and benefits related activities for Odyssey Behavioral Healthcare's network of services. Position is responsible for ensuring centralized payroll processes are carried out in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy, in accordance with all federal, state and local requirements. The Payroll Specialist processes bi-weekly payroll for the Mental Health division of Odyssey operations.
Relationships and Contacts
Within the organization: Initiates and maintains frequent and close working relationships with practice leaders, facility team members, network HR team members, and Odyssey Network team members.
Outside the organization: Initiates and maintains frequent and close working relationships with human resource vendors, to include: third-party benefits administrators, liability brokers, HRIS/Payroll, and occupational healthcare.
Essential Responsibilities

Processes bi-weekly payroll transactions for designated multi-state locations with a high degree of accuracy.
- Updates retirement deferral changes, processes contributions and funding in a timely manner.

Updates payroll dashboard data.
- Monitors and processes all direct deposit returns in collaboration with AP.
- Functions as final expense approver in Paycom ensuring timely and accurate expense reimbursements.
- Follows up and monitors outstanding payroll approvals including but not limited to punch changes, time-off requests, and personnel action forms ahead of payroll deadlines.
- Process all manual checks in collaboration with accounting and facility-based HR team members in accordance with state requirements.
- Generates and processes all retro payment calculations.
- Submits all garnishment orders for processing and inclusion in payroll.

Researches and resolves any payroll errors, questions from Accounting Department, and/or tax related questions.
- Assists with benefits enrollment data, reporting and reconciliation.
- Monitors payroll inbox and responds timely to payroll related questions and issues.

Track/reconciles missed benefits deductions.
Additional Responsibilities

Keeps abreast of new/changing federal, state, and local wage and hour legislation.

Recommends process improvements as appropriate.
- Maintains a high level of security and confidentiality of sensitive information.

Education and Experience
Position requires a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field and a minimum of two years of related experience.
